Does lavender oil have side effects?

Make sure not to apply too much lavender essential oil to your skin or onto your scalp. Too much essential oil can irritate the skin. To avoid this, always use the essential oil mixed with a carrier oil such as coconut or jojoba oil.

Never ingest plain essential oils or get them in your eyes. If you accidentally get them in your eyes, wash your eyes immediately with cool water.

Be cautious using or inhaling lavender if you take sedatives or anti-depressants. There are known interactions with these medications that may exaggerate sleepiness or drowsiness.

Note that during pregnancy it is recommended to use lavender essential oil only as aromatherapy. Ideal for a soothing, relaxing, purifying and calming effect are the Scullys products of the Lavender range, especially the Soy Candles.
